How much does current player form matter in live cricket bets? I ignored it once because the odds looked tempting, and the match went completely differently than I expected. Since then I've wondered how much other people rely on form.

A batter can arrive in great shape, yet difficult pitch conditions or disciplined bowling can completely change the outcome. I remember watching a women's cricket match where everyone expected the top scorer to dominate again, but she struggled from the start while another player stepped up instead. That experience reminded me that recent performances are helpful, although they need to be viewed together with the match situation. During live games I usually wait a little before making any decision because I want to see how confident the players look. It has saved me from rushing into choices more than once and made following the game much more enjoyable.
